specific hunting and/or show requirements and challenges. Also, you are getting a hound that

you and give you the best performance in the field or on the bench up to their maximum genetic

|
Before mating takes place, we
monitor the prospective parents for optimum health and breeding condition.
Our husbandry includes booster vaccinations and persistent worming before
whelping as indicated; based on our laboratory monitoring for specific parasites,
together with optimum nutrition intake and exercise. Maternal antibodies are passed in the
colostrum
when the pups are whelped
and they first begin to nurse. We want the pups to receive the maximum antibody
levels possible through the
colostrum. This is accomplished through booster
vaccination of the gyp.
|
|
Once a gyp is bred and we are
certain that she is gravid, we post
this information on this web site, detailing the pedigree of both parents and
what we perceive the outcome will be for the particular mating.
|
|
After we announce that a
mating has taken place, and we believe that the gyp is pregnant, we begin taking
reservations for pups. We will take up to 8 pup reservations (4 male and 4
female) for each bred gyp. The price per pup from this point and up until the
litter is 8 weeks old is $400.00US; with a 50%deposit required to secure your
reservations in the amount of $200.00 US, with the balance due at the time the
pup is shipped or picked up.
|
|
From the time the pups are 8
weeks old and up until the time they reach 16 weeks, the price is $450.00US;
with a 50%deposit required to secure your reservations in the amount of $225.00
US, with the balance due at the time the pup is shipped or picked up.
|
|
For pups between the ages of
16 weeks old until they are "started", the price is $500.00US; with a 50%deposit
required to secure your reservations in the amount of $250.00 US, with the
balance due at the time the pup is shipped or picked up.
|
|
Started pups (usually around
the age of 4 1/2 to 5 months of age and older) are $750.00US and up, depending
on the individual hound, how they are progressing with training, and their
individual performance, confirmation, and potential.

Reserving Your Pup:
Depending on the expected litter size, we accept reservations for up to eight
(8) puppies; Four (4) females and four (4) Males. Once the litter is whelped and
stable (at about one week of age) we will then make adjustments for the number
of puppies and sex ratio. This information will be posted on the website for
each expected litter and updated as deposits are received. Verbal and email
reservations for your hound will be held for a maximum of 72 hours, pending
receipt of payment.
Health Considerations:
|
We use the best vaccines,
wormers (Anthelminthics), nutrition, and nutritional supplements available in
the market place today.
|
|
Pups are vaccinated with the
appropriate choice of vaccines at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, and 1
year.
|
|
We "worm" as indicated. This
means that we don't just "worm", just to be worming! We routinely monitor our
pups and adult dogs for all parasites, both internal ("worms") and external
(fleas, ticks, etc.). Further, we just don't "shotgun" worm our dogs, but rather use
specific anthleminthics (wormers) for specific infections, based on our
laboratory findings. The practice of "shotgunning" only makes parasites more
resistant to future treatments. Heartworm preventative measures are started at
an appropriate age and dogs are monitored for micorfilaria.
|
|
Before breeding, our females
are checked for Canine Brucellosis to maintain a SPF (Specific Pathogen Free)
Brucellosis Kennel.
